A congregation of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, serving Hewitt and the surrounding community with Word and Sacrament.
We confess the Triune God and hold to the teachings of the Reformation and Martin Luther. Immanuel is a member of the Northern Wisconsin District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
Our mission is to provide a Word and Sacrament ministry for our worshiping congregation and to proclaim the saving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community and the world through our support of missions and outreach.
Lutherans in the Hewitt area were first served by churches in Marshfield and Auburndale. Pastor F. H. Siebrandt held services in a granary.
Members voted to build a simple church, 26 by 40 feet.
The congregation was officially organized, and Pastor William Georgi was called to serve. A steeple, parsonage and school were added in the years that followed.
A planning committee formed in October 1988. Groundbreaking for the current church was April 28, 1991, with help from Laborers for Christ.
The original church, which stood for 99 years, held its final service on December 1. The first service in the new church followed on December 8.
The current Immanuel Lutheran Church was dedicated.
